Vintage Lace Valentine

What I love most about Vintage Valentine's is the beautiful lace papers that made them so charming.
Once the lace-edged Valentine's found a place in America's heart it was every fair lady that desired one of her own. We can only be so grateful that the holders of such treasures tucked them away for safe keeping.

Any quiet hour of the day  I can sit and select one of many lace-edged
Valentine as I view it up close, read the sentiments tucked inside, and imagine the delight
the recipient felt on Valentine's Day many years ago.

As flowers to the earth,
And as pearls to the sea,
So dearest is ever
Thy friendship to me.
~Shirley
Vintage Valentine's shown are from my personal collection.

Shirley, It is absolutely amazing that these are in such beautiful condition. I love seeing these lacey cards~so romantic. I bet buying one of these treasures for his valentine felt like a small fortune to a boy. I am always in awe of your collection.

Gorgeous!! Love the vintage Valentines!! These are fabulous examples. They don't make them like they used to!!!
I also collect vintage Valentines.
I picked up a few this week along with a fabulous old candy box (that still has it's pink ribbon and flower embellishment). I bought the pretty candy box to store my vintage Valentines in.
Thanks for sharing your treasures with us.
Will visit again soon.

Antique embossed paper laced valentines have always been one of my favorites. They have a strong emotional appeal and remind us of the elegance and romance of the past. Everyone should own a few beautiful paper lace valentines.
