A Winter Walk

The last three weekends Old Man Winter let us know he was still in town.

Thinking it was going to be the last of the snow my hubby and I set out for what we thought
would be the last chance to walk in Moore State Park while snow still covered the earth in white.
The snow had stopped but rain was in the forecast for the rest of the day!

We went regardless of the threat of rain and was prepared to turn back if the sky opened up!

We really enjoyed walking in the quiet woods with just the sound of the gushing water fall!

I used a fast shutter speed so I could view the intense force of the water vs. a softer look that a slow speed would produce. The day was cold, gloomy and the water was unforgiving.

I did cross over the bridge but turned back as I know the terrain is slopped with rocks and it has no edge boarder. Not safe covered in snow.

The morning was quickly fading away, and we knew the rains would fall soon, so we headed
out of the park.

We really were in the mood to stay as the park is so beautiful covered in snow.

Spring time is truly the best time to visit the park as it is know for it's massive amounts of Rhododendrons and Hydrangea's

With the park just minutes from my home, I am counting the days to visit again.

And the snow is falling here for another snowy winter weekend.

After the snow stops, ice will be part of the mix with rain as Old Man Winter makes up his mind
to stay a tad longer or to leave once and for all.
I will be happy to see him go!

One of my favorite things is to take a walk in the snow. I loved the picture of the waterfall. More snow on the way for us again this week. Hopefully no ice on top like this week.

Shirley,
Old Man Winter is beautiful around your neck of the woods. Moore State Park is a gorgeous place to visit. I can see why you would want to go back again soon. Every time I see the snow, it really makes my heart sing. These truly are lovely pictures, Shirley. Thank you for sharing them.
