Inside Spring Garden

"Oh! the things which happen in a garden!"
The Secret Garden
I can't wait any longer. Our ground is still covered under a blanket of snow.
When I found this opened cage I just knew it belonged in my garden, but it is now my garden in waiting.
A few day's in a row, the sun was warm and a beautiful sound filled the air..The robins were singing as they huddled in the flowering crab apple tree.
We sure enjoy the birds that visit our backyard. They are so welcomed and can find most everything they need to make our yard a wonderful place for them to nest.
My inside garden with visits from these pretty little birds will keep my heart singing until the ground
is ready for planting and growing and nesting once again.
Every early spring I have been growing grass inside, with the snow keeping us in most of the time, it is a pleasure to "Listen" to the grass grow..even as we have a fire warming us as we dream of spring. The grass is real along with the spring flowers..the birds and yellow forsythia branches are not!
Don't take me wrong..I do love a pretty winter snow fall, but now I'm ready to open the windows and feel the fresh spring air..
Recovering from a grand 2' we are ready to let it go..
and bring forth the spring gardens.
I found the cage at Home Goods, gave it a light wash with a very soft white paint and
filled the removable tray with starter grass seed. It didn't take long to 'hear the grass grow"
Spring has arrived in my Inside Spring Garden..

Shirley, That is absoultely gorgeous! What a fantastic idea. I just love every wee bit of it, the white tulips, the grass, the forsythia and of course your little yellow birdie.
Wish I had one!
It is suppose to be in the 70's and sunny tomorrow so I have a daffodil that may bloom!

This cage is so charming, Shirley. And I LOVE Home Goods - one of my favorite shops. If you can't have a garden outside, you may as well have one inside, right? What a clever idea.....and that pink little bird is the sweetest thing. Have a good week ahead.

Shirley, what a great idea. A bit of lovely in the midst of all that white cold. I'm with you and we didn't get our normal little bit of snow this year, but I'm ready for Old Man Winter to be gone..Happy Weekend..Judy

What a stunning arrangement - beautifully done. It will certainly add some wonderful colour to your days. Cute little birds too.

We had our first morning with a real chill in the air today - not a frost, but autumn all right!

There will more pictures from same trip as I took the pelicans over the next two days.
