Knock-Out Roses and Lavender

My Knock-Out Roses are doing great again this year.
The hot pink and a blush pink are so beautiful.
surrounded by the Lavender makes for a wonderful little garden.
With the Lilacs now gone and the Peonies almost gone, the Roses bring joy to the garden.
Was happy when the rains stopped to give the blooms some time to grow.
My hubby and I are  new at growing roses, and we sure are learning more each season.
We hope to have a good season for 2014...can't wait!
Take time to smell the Roses,
~Shirley

your flowers are lovely!!!
i especially love the 2nd photo..there is just something about the rosebud just opening...the stage where it's just in between bud and open. i think it is when roses are at their most beautiful!!
do you dry your lavender and make sachets ?or,have you made lavender oil ?I have dried lavender "sprigs" in 2 vintage enamelware pitchers(one blue and one white) and it looks so pretty in them.

We love roses to. Love the colors you have chosen. Our knock out is just too big, a limb was even knocked down in a wind storm! Mr cut it back...but it wants to bloom 2 colors on one bud, interesting.

Your roses are gorgeous, Shirley! I love growing roses. They're not as difficult as people think and I learned that they can survive neglect. I wasn't able to winterized my roses last year and although 3 of them died, the others have rewarded me with even more blooms this year. The ones that died were already struggling so I wasn't surprised. Can't wait to see more photos of your beautiful garden! xoxo

Your knock-out roses are lovely, Shirley. The hot pink is so pretty. I just bought some orange roses today to bright up the house a bit.

Have a happy week.

Love,
